I shot this while traveling with two friends in Vermont. I remember as the sun went down that evening all three of us were in awe of the clear sky and the crisp look that it had. I remember the feeling I had while driving in the car. It was a moment when you know you are alive. You can taste the fresh air you are breathing and you realize how wonderfully beautiful the world you live in is. You know what I mean? When night came we were even more amazed when we saw the amount of stars that showed up in the sky that night. It was after midnight and dark and in a place far away from much light pollution..and cell phone reception.. perfect for capturing a clear Milky Way. Also, the moon was not out that night. Depending on how full the moon is, it can be an obstacle for capturing a lot of stars with how much light it gives off. So no moon the better in this situation! My friend Alex and I found an open field and pointed our cameras to the sky. There was a mound of dirt not far in an open field so I set up my camera low to the ground and stood up on the mound with the Milky Way shining behind me, sparked a lighter and got this shot!
